Become a JOTA-JOTI Changemaker

Turn what you learn into action where you live

During JOTA-JOTI, Scouts around the world connect, explore new ideas and learn from one another. The Changemaker Pledge is your invitation to take that inspiration into your community.

Choose one action that matters to you. Make a simple plan during JOTA-JOTI. Then bring it to life and tell us what happened within 3 months after the event.

You can do it on your own or with your Scout Group. Your action can be small. What matters is the difference you make.

What to keep in mind

As you plan and carry out your community project, remember to:

  • Take at least three photos. You can also record a short video if you wish.
  • Share a post about your project on social media.
  • Collect one or two written testimonials from participants or beneficiaries.
  • Keep track of the total community service hours contributed by the Scouts involved in the project (Total hours = Number of days Γ— Hours per day Γ— Number of Scouts).

You can use the following questions to guide the testimonials:

  • What problem did the project help you address?
  • What has changed for you or your community as a result of the project?
  • How do you think the project will affect you or your community over the next five years?
  • What moment from the project stands out most to you?

Make sure you have permission from the people concerned to share their photos, videos, and testimonials publicly.
